What is peer pressure? It is the influence of peers, that is, our so called ‘friends’ who seem to be a member of a so-called popular crowd, especially amongst the adolescent. It is like ‘what they do is correct’ and we are helpless and speechless. This particular person is very cool and she knows the best’ but we only look at her external personality. This needs to be checked, otherwise sometimes this may lead to wrong decisions. One needs to be very careful at this stage because we know that each coin has two sides. Peer pressure is one of the coins where in some cases it results to be very successful and in other it is a bad influence on people which may lead to their downfall.

Peer Pressure— A Life Taking Disease

A Happy Life

Being optimistic isn’t always being happy. It’s taking what the world throws at you and saying, “I am not going to let this take me down”. Think of the human rights activists who fight oppressions, but sometimes end up in a prison—are they happy? A happy life and a meaningful life are different; a happy life is a life which a content person lives, demanding no more and is contending with his own possessions, while meaningful life involves stress and challenges.

A meaningful life and a happy life often go hand-in-hand—but not always. Happiness really is a big thing that describes a person’s life. For example, there may be people who look happy, but their personal life is miserable. Being happy doesn’t always mean to carry a fresh, fruity smile and walk around; but it means to be mentally and socially pure.

Here is a letter from a science student to his father after the annual reports were out.

Dear Father,

I had an electric shock from your letter. I don’t know what internal confusion is going on inside your mind. It is unscientific to lose the gravity of your mind without conforming the information through verification. The function of the letter is the subject reported against me. You will gather truth separated from untruth from whatever i write. If there is untruth, it will be visible to naked eyes without the help of a microscope. Who says my energy is wasted? Energy can’t be wasted. It exists in one form or the other. I and English are unfortunately that of like polarity and hence we repel each other. In history, I’m Bad conductor and I don’t understand the atoms and molecules of Mathematics. The teachers pour the subjects into beaker of my brain but get no reaction. But I am trying my best to wake up with velocity of light. So, I humbly request you to keep your mind at 0. Celsius with love, as truthful as ‘Newton’s Law’.
