This book is about one Jerusha Abbott, who has spent 17 long years at the John Grier. But her life was about change as an anonymous man decided to send her to college. Jerusha did not know anything about the man except his name that she was told to call him: Mr. John Smith. He wanted Jerusha to be a writer and he wanted Jerusha to write him monthly letters. She wrote a letter to “John Smith”, upon reaching college. She wrote what she thought about him: a tall, rich man who hates girls, who she named Daddy Long Legs. On her vacation, she would go out with Sallie’s family or Julia’s family. Sometimes she would also go to Lock Willow to meet Jervie Pendelton. She had lots of fun over the years and she kept on writing letters to Daddy Long Legs. Ved Vyas Class VII

You must all have heard of Lord Shiva. He, the God of the Gods whom they all call "The Mahadev", whose destiny was to destroy evil, but how would he do that? Before Shiva became Lord Shiva, he was a person of flesh-and-blood, like you and me.....A man who rose to become godlike and divine because of his karma (destiny). That is the premise of the Shiva Trilogy, that is what the Shiva Trilogy is all about, which interprets the rich mythological heritage of ancient India, blending fiction with historical fact. The Immortals of Meluha was the first book in the trilogy that chronicles the journey of this remarkable god. The story was continued in the second book, The Secret of the Nagas and it will all end in the third book, The Oath of the Vayuputras. The characters of the books are the ones we grew up hearing about in our grandma’s stories– Shiva, Sati, Kali, Ganesh, Karthik….. They are all there in their humanity, realistic form. Not as gods, but as human beings like you and me who are flawed and yet loved. This trilogy is great if you like Indian mythology; well written and it is an enjoyable read.
